About me

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I began teaching English in 1992, when I was just a student at IPPI (Instituto Patagónico del Profesorado de Inglés) in Trelew, Chubut. I started to show a special interest in literature for children and adolescents at an early age and became involved in literary research after meeting my teacher and mentor, writer Nelby Bustamante, in 1994 at Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco. She invited me to a congress in Esquel for teachers and writers of  literature for children and adolescents, where I read a paper on literature and ideology based on classic fairy tales which I had written for her class; I was 21 years old then but I realised immediately that I wanted to become a teacher trainer.

I have worked at IPPI since 1996, when I got my degree as a teacher, teaching Literature for Children and Adolescents, Language, Diction and Cultural Studies, and delivering development courses on a variety of themes which include literature, language and methodology. I have been a speaker at international congresses like FAAPI and ABS International on several occasions, presenting my research on the fields of literature for children and adolescents, language awareness, and methodoloy. In 2007 I became a Cambridge ESOL Speaking Examiner at KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE level.

At the moment I’m living in Buenos Aires, where I am both working as a freelance teacher developer and studying to get my degree in English Language teaching. I am teaching a group of seven graders (PET level) at Escuela Para el Hombre Nuevo, I keep coordinating the Cambridge ESOL department at my own private institute in Trelew, Manhattan English Institute,  and working as  an online tutor at IPPI. Recently I started to work at Richmond Publishing as content manager for their community, http://www.richmondcommunity.com.ar
